SAFETY
- 60% of tire blowouts are caused by under inflation
- Under inflated tires flex and build up heat, breaking down the rubber over time
- Nitrogen is a dry gas which disperses heat more rapidly resulting in cooler running tires; this preserves the integrity of the rubber, belts, and beads
- This inert gas also significantly slows the chemical aging process associated with oxygen and moisture in the air
- Nitrogen permeates (gradually leaks) through the tire at a rate of 35% slower than ambient (compressed) air
CONSISTENT TIRE INFLATION PRESSURE LEADS TO:
- Improved tread life - as much as 30% longer
- Longer tire life - helps rubber and belts maintain structure as tire ages
- Improved vehicle handling - pressure retention stabilizing steering response
- Safer driving - under/over inflation can lead to rollovers, soft cornering, blowouts, poor ride quality, uneven tire wear, poor traction in inclement weather
IMPROVED FUEL MILEAGE
- Nitrogen dissipates heat, reducing rolling resistance and therefore enhancing fuel economy
- Passenger cars realize 2-3 miles per gallon gain; 4% on average; Trucks realize gains of 2 +%; As much as 6% is possible
- At 4% gains on a vehicle with 20 mpg rating this saves approximately 2.5 gallons of fuel per week based on $4.00 per gallon @ 40 miles per day, thus adds up to $520 per year in fuel savings
